 | Tom Jones | Baby Tom is discovered in Mr Allworthy's bed and is brought up as his son, but despite being basically good can't help himself being led astray somewhat by a series of women, in spite of being in love with the out-of-reach Sophie Western, as her dad wants her to marry Mr Blifel, Allworthy's rather nasty and sneaky nephew. But what if Allworthy has more nephews than he thought? | Not bad, although rather long-winded in many places, but at least he warns you about those bits. I read this because Rachel on hols in Croatia was claiming that the food-seduction scene (in the film) was great. Disappointing, I guess I'll have to get the DVD next. |
