Set in France, weird bloke with amazing sense of smell kills girls to capture the essence of their scent, goes on to make fortune as famous perfumier, but comes to a sticky end.

Not bad, but was expecting better as Abi raved about it and I bought it on her recommendation. Pretty good though, and certainly original.
